Our customer, Renee, who lives in Shakopee, contacted Complete Basement Systems about water that was coming into the basement from the outside every spring. Our office scheduled an appointment for her to meet with a system design specialist to assess what needed to be done for this to not happen again.
It was evident from looking at the foundation wall a noticeable white powder substance, which is known as efflorescence. Efflorescence is a whitish, powdery deposit that forms on the surface of rocks or soil in dry regions. It is formed as mineral-rich water rises to the surface through capillary action and then evaporates. Efflorescence usually consists of gypsum, salt, or calcite.
Our CleanSpace Wall System was installed to solve this problem. Cleanspace is an anti-microbial vapor barrier that acts as a moisture barrier on the walls to prevent moisture, mold and other substances from getting to the finished sheet rock.
