This homeowner called us with desperation as her basement had 2 inches of water in it after some heavy rains went through the area. She used her basement primarily as storage, as well as her laundry area. It is devastating when someone's belongings are ruined due to water damage.
Our Design Specialist Ron went to visit with her and do an inspection to see what we could do to prevent her from having to go through this again. After some discussion, they agreed that a WaterGuard perimeter drain system, CleanSpace Wall System, A SuperSump and Ultrasump Sump System, and the buried discharge line with IceGuard would be the best system for her.
Our production team installed her system in just one day. They jackhammered around the perimeter of her basement to install the WaterGuard drain system. Then line the walls with the CleanSpace Wall System. They pour concrete over the WaterGuard after tying it into her new sump system. The discharge line is run outside and buried, with the IceGuard attachment. This prevents any water from backing up into the house in the case that the discharge line freezes or becomes blocked for any reason.
This homeowner is now confident that her basement will be dry and safe. She can once again use the space for storing her treasured belongings and know her major appliances will be safe from water damage.
This homeowner's dad called us to discuss his daughter's basement. He let us know that her partially finished basement was very damp feeling and had signs of mold. She used this space as mostly storage, and her laundry was down there. After discussing his concerns, we set up a time for both he and his daughter to meet with our Design Specialist Ryan.
Ryan took a look at the basement and found a sump pump. This is a great start to keeping the basement dry, but it wasn't doing the job on it's own so he recommended adding our WaterGuard Drain System. The WaterGuard System is installed inside the basement compared to conventional French drains that are installed outside the foundation. The System effectively captures wall and floor seepage before it reaches your basement floor. Water enters the system through inlet holes and flows through the drainage pipe to your sump pump. It is also discreet. The trench is jackhammered out, the WaterGuard laid in the trench, surrounded with rock to allow water to flow freely, then covered with concrete for a flush, even surface. This homeowner didn't plan on laying flooring in her basement at this time, but can rest assured if she ever chooses to, it can be done seamlessly over the top of the WaterGuard System.
Now equipped with a more complete waterproofing system, she will not have to worry about her belongings being damaged or appliances getting ruined because of flooding.
These homeowners in Madison, MN had a finished basement that flooded with some heavy storms that went through the area. They had a sump pump but it unfortunately failed.
