Basement Water Seepage from garage door in Mankato, MN
Challenge
Our customer Michele and Tim of Mankato, MN had a problem area in their basement that would get water with a heavy rain and each spring when the snow would melt.
The problem always happened around the garage door that enters into the lower level of their home. After years of putting off the problem they've had, they made the call to action to resolve this once and for all.
The problem is there was no place for that water to go, but into their basement floor. So imagine walking through the door after a long day at work and open the door to go into your home and you walk right into standing water. Frustrated is what you are probably feeling. The last thing you wanted to do is clean up work in the basement.
Solution
Complete Basement Systems qualified design specialist, Nick Barke guided them to a solution to solve the problem. Nick's 20+ years experience in the field of installing and designing systems for homeowners, made our customers feel confident that they called the right place.
The installation involved digging a trench along the problem area and install a TrechDrain system that would capture the water at the point of entry and channel any water flow into a sump pump system, our SuperSump.
We also set the homeowners up with suitable flooring using ThermalDry Tile in the Canyon Beige color. The Flooring is a waterproof subfloor with a finished look that can handle water without damaging it, unlike carpet or other flooring that is not able to handle water. The tiles have pegs to create an airspace under your floor, which keeps water vapor from getting trapped underneath your finished floor, which if that happens can cause odors and mold.
