This homeowner had multiple walls in the basement that were bowing. Leaning, cracked and bowed walls are a sign that something is going wrong with the structural integrity of your house. This happens when hydrostatic pressure from too much water building up against the walls, or the soil that is around your foundation swells and exerts enough pressure to force the basement wall inward. Bowed or leaning walls can cause serious damage if not corrected. The stairstep cracks you can see in these pictures are also an indicator that the wall is moving. They had them sealed at one point, but as the wall continues to move, the cracking will get worse.
These walls were a great candidate for our PowerBrace steel beam system. This system permanently stabilizes foundation walls. Zinc-plated steel beams are custom-fit to your basement height and tightly secured against the wall with brackets that are anchored to the basement floor below and first-floor framing above. They can be tightened over time, permanently eliminating any further inward movement- and even reversing the effects of wall failure- without invasive drilling or digging.
With this system in place, the homeowner's peace of mind is restored.

So Much Filler
You can see where someone previously attempted to fill all the cracks in the block wall with a type of filler compound. Since this wall is still moving due to the pressure on the outside, this cracking will continue to worsen. This filler is not a permanent solution.
Stair Step Cracking
This zig-zag patterned cracking is a tell-tale sign of shifting basement walls. If you have cracks like these in your basement, you should have it inspected to make sure your home isn't suffering from structural issues.
Strong and Neat
The white CleanSpace Wall System is the lining that is on the walls, behind the PowerBrace Beam System. This liner keeps water vapor from permeating the walls and drains wall leaks. It also looks nicer than the stained block wall.
Power(ful)Brace System
This PowerBrace System effectively stabilized the block wall. There is no heavy equipment needed to install or maintain, and no disturbance to the exterior features of your home such as landscaping.
