This home built in 1949 in St. Paul was suffering from major moisture issues coming through both the walls and floor. On top of the hassle of dealing with moisture, the homeowner noticed mildew growing on the walls, a major safety hazard. Our System Design Specialist, Ryan Powell, worked with the homeowner to build a system that took care of the moisture problem once and for all so that her basement is dry, livable, and safe!

Before: Major Moisture Problem

As the crew began working in the basement, they saw just how much mildew had grown due to the moisture problem.

Trench Work

The crew worked to remove concrete around the perimeter of the basement space in order to install the WaterGuard waterproofing system.

Teamwork

Together, the crew worked to install the CleanSpace wall vapor barrier, which works to remove any wall moisture from the home.

Finishing Touches

The crew made sure that every detail was perfect.

Ready for Waterproofing

Once the perimeter was completely trenched and the CleanSpace was installed, the crew was ready to install the waterproofing system.

SuperSump Installation

As the team worked to install the WaterGuard waterproofing system, the Crew Leader installed the SuperSump sump pump, which will work to remove all water from the home.

Benefit of Low Intrusion

While it is important that the space be clean and clear prior to installation, the crew is careful to work around common things in the basement like furnaces.

Waterproofing Complete

After installing the WaterGuard waterproofing system, the crew replaced all the concrete so that the floor is level and ready for any finishing the homeowner desires.
