Production Team Training
Ever wondered how the production team - that you are entrusting you basement to - is trained? You're not the only one!
Consistently, our customers rave about the work that the Production Team does in their basement or crawlspace. While we love fantastic reviews, it's definitely not by chance that we're getting this feedback. Extensive training goes into ensuring that every one of our teams works efficiently, professionally, and, well, as a TEAM.
The Hiring Process
We get hardworking individuals that apply throughout the year. Every individual goes through a rigorous hiring process to ensure that we feel that they will be a truly valuable asset to our team.
- First, the applicants go through a basic phone screen interview where they are asked basic questions about work history, experience, and ability to consistently provide a strong work ethic.
- Next, applicants are invited to come to our shop to meet the Production Manager, Nick Barke, and his assistant, Tricia Woitas. The job description is fully discussed - including all the heavy buckets that the team is expected to carry day in and day out (this is a deal-breaker for some!!).
- If the applicant feels that he or she is able to conquer the job, (s)he is invited to the Friday morning meeting at 6:30AM sharp! The dedicated individuals that show up then go through a series of speed interviews with each of the foremen to determine which team would be the most fitting.
Training Program
Over the first month of employment with Complete Basement Systems, each individual is trained to be able to conquer the job as a co-foreman. We want every single one of our employees to be able to advance their careers at a pace that is fitting for them based on their prior work experience, overall work ethic, and passion for our company. All employees are graded both in the first month, and then throughout their careers on "key performance indicators" that are outlined in our training manual titled "Best Foot Forward" including some of the following:
- Job site set-up (prepping the job site for production)
- Efficiency (ability to plan ahead, focusing on "no wasted movements", never just standing around)
- Safety
- Proper clean-up after installation is complete
- Professionalism with the customers, with the team, and with everyone they come in contact with!
Every single one of our fantastic foremen started with this training program, and many of them have been here for many, many years because they love the work they do and the support from a company they've come to love and respect.
