Basement Waterproofing & Egress Window Installation, Winona MN
Challenge
Jeff & Lucy H. just purchased a home in Winona, MN and had previous water seepage in the past. They had plans to make the lower level livable with bedrooms and a living area. They knew that would not be possible until the water problem was fixed. Working to get all the plans in place, they searched online for a contractor specializing in basement waterproofing to determine a solution- Complete Basement Systems scheduled an appointment for a FREE estimate.
Our System Design Specialist met with Jeff and Lucy to inspect the problem areas and discussed what exactly they wanted to accomplish with the basement after it was waterproofed. They wanted to have a bedroom in the basement, which led to the product of our Egress Windows we install. An unfinished area in the basement did not have a level concrete floor and inquired if we could be able to do that for them as well.
Solution
Jeff and Lucy got a one stop shop with Complete Basement Systems being able to waterproof the basement, install an egress window and pour a concrete area in the basement. Getting all this done with one company in THREE days was the timeline our customers needed to keep with the schedule of the finishing contractors afterwards.
July can be a very HOT time of year in Minnesota, and indeed it was when it came time to begin the project. The installation crew got to the job at hand.
The installation crew installed a RockWell Egress Window Well with a new sliding window. WaterGuard was installed along the full perimeter of the foundation to prevent any ground water seepage along with a vapor barrier wall system, CleanSpace Wall to prevent moisture on the walls from ruining any the finished sheetrock on the wall.
A new sump pump system called the TripleSafe was installed with a battery back up, the UltraSump. Water from the sump pump system will discharge to a pvc pipe system that is buried under ground and discharge the water away from the house.
An unfinished and uneven concrete floor was refinished with new concrete. The team used over 80 bags of concrete, which is hauled in 5 gallon pails!
Our customer had this to share on Facebook about their experience with our company:
"Hats off to Ben and his team! My sizable project had strict schedule requirements. The finished product was perfect and done when promised. The crew was extremely polite and kept me informed of the 3 day project as things progressed. I would highly recommend them."
